Synopsis of Governors' Meeting November 2016
The Governors play a very important role in the life of the school. They work alongside staff to ensure that high levels of achievement are attained. They serve on sub-committies which focus on different aspects of the school such as Finance and the Curriculum Committee. The Full Governing Body Meetings are once each Derbyshire Term.
Governors are always interested in hearing the views of parents, both positive or negative, and can be contacted via the school office, or by email on email@example.com (the double g is correct).

I was elected as Chair in October 2014, having served as Vice Chair since 2004. My three children attended the school. I taught in Secondary schools for over thirty-two years, the last eleven as a Head of Department, and have since taught two terms in a Primary school; I am a Supply teacher in another school, as well as volunteer in Grassmoor Primary, including accompanying groups on School visits. All this means I have a knowledge of education from Nursery to Year 11. I administer the School website. I am generally available to meet Parents at the Friday Coffee Mornings in the Library.
Mr R. Whitehead
Vice Chair of Governors.
I have lived in Grassmoor for over 28 years and all my 5 daughters were educated at Grassmoor School, starting in the late 1980’s. I have been a governor for over 12 years and currently serve as a community governor. I am involved in a number of sub committees. During my career I have been involved in a number of roles including finance, recruitment, procurement and IT as well as managing major projects. I feel these experiences have helped me in my role of governor and hopefully benefited the school as a whole.
Mr D. Chapman
