School in the Media.

13 March 2016 (by Webanywhere User (admin))

We made the National Press at least twice, the internet and the radio.

On Sunday 13th March the school was featured in an article about school gardening. Four of our pupils (Jenson from Y6, Holly R. and Leo from Y5 and Dylan S. from Y3) were interviewed by phone, as was Andrew Bradley, Chair of Governors, about how our school operates its gardening and how this is integrated into the school curriculum. An accompanying photo showed Dylan alongside Barney (Y3) and Chloe W. (Y2). Mr Bradley took a motion to the Association of Teachers and Lecturers Conference in Liverpool calling on the Government to include gardening in the school curriculum as it has many benefits for the children, and this is how the school came to be used as a model for others to follow. Since then the school has been mentioned in the Daily Mail, and on-line on the websites of the Daily Mail, the Independent, Herald Scotland, Parentzone and Capita Education. Mr Bradley also gave an interview to BBC West Midland radio.
